Phénicia Conseil on behalf of an international group that is a world leader in its sector and a subsidiary of a multinational specializing in renewable energies, is seeking for its subsidiary located in French Guyana, a:

Operator/Pilot – Forestry Engins (m-w)

Fixed-Term with Expat Contract – Lac de Petit Saut – French Guyana

Main Responsibilities:

• Operate the patented Forestry Engins Machine
• Achieve the production targets set by the company.
• Monitor and report key performance parameters: productivity, uptime, etc.
• Coordinate activities with support vessels for log transport.
• Ensure that the extraction zone complies with the designated extraction area and associated instructions as outlined in the company’s operational plan.
• Ensure the proper functioning and daily maintenance of the SHARC™ by conducting pre-operational checks, liaising with the chief mechanic, and assisting with repairs if necessary.
• Participate in the training of future SHARC™ pilots.
• Adhere to regulations and the internal framework in place, especially regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, and confidentiality.

 Profile Sought: To succeed in this role, we are looking for a candidate with a taste for challenges, adaptability, and foresight. A strong sense of initiative, unwavering motivation, and a keen team spirit are required to work in our demanding and dynamic environment.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, particularly in operating forestry machinery and/or crane operations in the maritime and fluvial sectors.
• Mechanical skills, especially in detecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• The ability to work and navigate on a floating platform.
• Curiosity and the willingness to learn quickly from various profiles (engineers, HSE…).
• A professional level of English and possibly speaking French
• Possession of a river boat license and PC capacity certificate, as well as CACES R482 cat.B1 – C1 certifications.
• Experience or strong interest in remote-controlled systems.

• Fixed-term contract of 12 or 18 months with 4 weeks of work followed by 4 weeks off.
